Ok every once in a while i have a post of random sh*t just because i like it. Now that i said that i continue with the post.
One of my friends is having her birthday today and i thought.. what would be a cool post on her wall? One that could say HAPPY BIRTHDAY in a nice original way, not the same old have a great day, youre awesome yada, yada.. blah!..
So, i thought.. why not to post several versions of Happy Birthday?.. right?.. How cool is that?.. (freaking awesome cool, that is!!)

According to Arts & Crafts Mexico, the californian duo will be in mexican soil on february of the next year. The openers in this case will be BAM BAM, a mexican group from Monterrey, Mexico.
The new album of Girl Talk is available right now through the label Illegal Art. That’s about everything you need to know, since the album is to to be downloaded for FREE (yeah, no strings attached FREE).
Apparently since its under a Creative Commons License and done by many samples (you must know this if you have listened to any of his music) and its awesome, that makes it free.. Ok, i dont know how, leave that to the lawyers, i just enjoy music.
Im not going to write anything else, because in my opinion this album is AMAZING, but now its your turn to listen to it and see for yourself.
Whether you went to see it at the movies/cinema/theater, or just in the most comfortable couch of your house, Edgar Wright’s new film Scott Pilgrim vs the World totally and completely kicked ass.
I’m not going to spill the beans for those if you who haven’t seen it (shame on you!!) but i can honestly say its my new favorite movie thanks to the awesome dialog (thank you Brian Lee O’Malley), great action scenes and even better special fx.. If it was for me i would give them an oscar on being epic.. just because..
Anyway, lets move on to the topic of this post. The Soundtrack.
As you all may know, most great movies are not only important because of the great performances, photography and direction. Great movies also have the ability to convey great msuic in them, music that practically takes you inside them, without you even knowing. Are you feeling me?.. no?.. ok, let me give you an example. Ever seen the godfather?.. what comes into your mind..no, im not talking al pacino here.. ok yes, but next thing after that.. yeap, exactly, the whole mandolin playing on the back of the wedding. You cant listen to that without thinking.. wow.. this sounds totally italian.. and why is that?, because the music is appropiate!.. thats why.. Music helps you give the tone to the film, it enhances the feeling you get when you watch it, and completes the wholes when is not that an awesome film.
Anyway, moving on. I think there are few soundtraxx that can help you achieve that feeling without being instrumental. Saying that, you MUST listen to the Scott Pilgrim Soundtrack. One of the very notorious collaborations in the music is of the (great) re-known musicians Beck Hansen. You can practically feel his vibe when you start listening the love song Ramona (an ode to the heroine/damsel in so not distress/object of affection) Also, you have another beautiful love song in the hands of Broken Social Scene’s Anthems for a seventeen year old girl and a great combat song with Metric’s Blacksheep.
Overall, if you havent watch the film, do it, and then, listen to the soundtrack.. believe me.. it all makes sense..

For you guys that are as excited as me for watching TRON & Daft punk together, here it is. They just launched a new video with fragments of the new film TRON: Legacy and one of the songs that is going to be in the soundtrack called “Derezzed” (but im just gonna call it PURE AWESOMNESS IN SOUND)
i dont have a lot of love for LOS CLAXONS (even if their name is a resemblance to one of my favorite bands, KLAXONS) but nevertheless, i do like PLASTILINA MOSH, so here comes this public announcement!
This saturday there is going to be a gig with them.. and of course, it happens on hallows eve.. So get your costume ready (hipsters around the world, do not dress as an ipad..PLEASE!) and your drinking mode on, ’cause its time to party!!!
Even though is probably already on the web, The Drums will be playing a gig at Mexico City, during the events of Rockampeonato Telcel. For those of you who doesnt know what this is, Telcel (a longstanding mobile company in Mx) started 5 years ago a platform to launch new bands through gigs in several cities of Mexico. The mechanic of the competition, to get your band on stage in front of a live audience and judges (a lá american idol) and get the most of it. The prize, a music contract with noiselab.
Sounds good right?.. well it does, specially since not only do the audience get to see new bands with good proposals, but, also live performances of their favorite Mexican bands, such as: Kinky, Molotov, Cafe Tacvba, and Jumbo, among others..
Because, after all, the name of this post is THE DRUMS.. there will be Drums music..
I know i haven’t been that good or nice this year, and yet lucky me, some of my favorite bands are playing at my town. Ok, so Arcade Fire is not coming (that was bad news) but still we have other ones that DO get here and fulfill their promises… like WHITE LIES.. (AWESOME!!)
This friday, they will be playing at ESCENICA and because i would like to start with the hype with some tunes of them.
Okay, so.. apparently the soundtrack of Disney’s new movie TRON Legacy (you know, the one that make neon lights and computer script nerds awesome cool) has now been set to a new date of appearance.
The new date is now set to December 7, 2010 instead of november 22, which is still before the opening of the actual movie, but yet late for everyone else that is interested in Daft Punk.
Is it a tactical move, a mkt strategy or just pure evilness? .. well who knows.. but.. thanks to Consequence of Sound (http://consequenceofsound.net) here is a small 20 second piece of the soundtrack.
